New style electricity pylons to be introduced

New T-shaped electricity pylons to be rolled out in England and Wales and will form part of a 35 mile route in Somerset that will carry low-carbon electricity.

The new design, the first since 1927, has been introduced with an aim to reduce the visual impact across the landscape.

The new style electricity pylon design is by Danish company Bystrup.
