New Energy Strategy promises over 40,000 more jobs in clean industries

The government has unveiled its new British Energy Security Strategy which is set to boost jobs in the energy sector to around 480,000 jobs by 2030. 

The government plans to build up to eight more nuclear reactors on existing sites. This is alongside ambitious expansion of clean energy such as wind and solar. 

It aims to “supercharge clean energy and accelerate deployment” with the intention of making 95% of electricity low carbon by 2030.
